Resources for pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood
Although at Soma’ing we have the lofty goal of making embodied connection more accessible for all, we have a special focus on pregnancy (including childbirth and new parenthood).
As this is one of the most transformational times of our lives, it is also a time when this work is most needed and can make the biggest difference.
Here at Soma’ing, we’ve been working on a number of resources especially for our pregnant clients.
Because:
We believe that embodied connection is the missing element in our preparation for childbirth and our approaches to labour and parenting
Embodied connection and somatic awareness supports all ways of going through pregnancy, giving birth and parenting and it helps us to know which choices are right for us
Embodied connection and somatic awareness is our super power as mothers - when we can regulate ourselves and listen for what is needed by our babies/children and by us, we respond in the best way possible to the continually changing journey and its unknowns and foster a healthy bond and attachment with our children
Because as a society we’ve lost the ways of connecting to and listening to our bodies and we need to be guided back to them in ways that work in our busy lives. Although it’s work we can do alone, it isn’t easy to create these new pathways all by ourselves. Working together makes such a difference
