In- Vivo Embodied Parenting

aka the class that comes to you!

Twyla Kowalenko, somatic educator, will support you virtually in applying embodied practices directly into your life. These practices support groundedness, calm and connection in your life and parenting.

This embodied parenting class is not your usual practice classes.

This is a class you take in the middle of your life.

No need to make space. You get to bring all of it! With your kids, at home or out. The facilitation will guide you while you’re in your regular activities.

Full, messy, chaotic, it’s all welcome. Your kid is having a meltdown during class time? A PERFECT time to practice!

Yes, it’s a whole lot easier to feel calm, be aware of how we’re feeling, and respond as our best selves when we can take a break from the busyness of our lives. And practices like that are awesome and helpful.

But most of our lives aren’t lived in these calm breaks. Most of our lives are lived in the doing and responsibilities of the many pieces we hold.

We need to be able to use our tools when we’re in the thick of it all. When it really matters: in our real lives with some of the people we love the most, our children. This is also when it can be hardest.

Embodied practices can help you:

  • calm yourself down/stay calm

  • tune into your own needs (and practice self-care)

  • notice the state of your nervous system

  • provide you with tools to regulate yourself

  • attune with your children

  • connect with your children (even when you’re in very different states)

  • model regulation/calming ourselves for your children (and provide co-regulation)

  • begin to tune into what’s really going on for your children underneath their challenging behaviours

  • move forward with more ease, even when your needs are very different

We’ll meet over zoom. Turn your camera on or have it off. Let the class invitations weave into whatever you’re in. There will be opportunities to share, but no obligations to.

Upcoming classes:

April 1, 2023 11-11:45am EST $10USD

Soma’ing practices are all about how to be aware of the experience of our bodies IN our lives to support WHAT MATTERS to us.

I can’t wait to weave embodied practices into life with you!
